How to Beat DODGE

DODGE is the joke that completionists will hate. Buried on the same NIRA desktop as the Church investigation is a score-attack minigame. Steam names two achievements after it. DODGE Maniac is score over 1,000. DODGE Master is score over 2,000. In the first days after launch, Maniac sat around five percent global unlocks and Master around two percent. That is the rarest pair in a ten-achievement list. Korean reviews spoiler-tagged a simple complaint: the dodging game is too hard.

You do not need DODGE to file Accuse or Connive. You do not need it to understand the Church or to fill the organization chart. It is a 100 percent tax. Play it after the Walkthrough so you are not tilting in the middle of a keyword hunt.

What DODGE is

The name is the mechanic. You dodge. You score. You do not search. That is why it feels like it was smuggled in from another prototype. It still lives on the desk, so treat it as an in-world program, not a pause-menu challenge. If the window is on the desktop during the story, you can open it when you want. If it unlocks after a story beat, it will appear like any other program.

Because it is a desktop window, mouse precision and a stable frame rate matter more than in the reading sections. The System Requirements sheet is mild, but a stuttering integrated GPU is more annoying here than in a wiki article. Close extra Windows junk. Play in fullscreen if the game offers it. Sit closer than you did for the forum posts.

How to play the score chase

Learn the pattern before you hunt 2,000. The first runs are for reading enemy or projectile tells, not for the badge. Maniac at 1,000 is the checkpoint. Once you can hit 1,000 without panic, Master is a cleaner run of the same rules, not a new mode. Do not invent a second hidden DODGE. The achievement list only names these two thresholds.

Short sessions. If you just spent an hour inside the community board, your brain is in reading mode. DODGE wants twitch mode. Take five minutes. Then open the window. Die fast, restart fast. Treat 1,000 as a first-week goal and 2,000 as a later cleanup with the Achievement Tracker open.

How it connects to the case, barely

A desk that contains both a drowning file and an arcade clone is a character beat for NIRA. Someone in that office needed a stupid game. That is all the lore you get unless a document inside the case mentions DODGE by name. If a memo or community post references it, search the word the same way you search any other token. Do not assume high scores unlock a third ending. They do not appear as hidden story achievements.

If you are here because you think DODGE is a story lock, it is not. File the report using Endings. Come back. The people who 100 percent this game are the people who already finished the search loop and then got stubborn.

Practical rules

Keep your hands on mouse movement, not on the search bar muscle memory. Do not look at the score until a run is clearly alive. Restart on the first ugly hit during a Master attempt; 2,000 is a clean-run number, not a recovery number. If the window steals focus from a chat that is auto-advancing in the background, pause the story layer first. The minigame is not worth losing a last message you needed for the chart.

When you are done, go back to being a researcher. The Search Notebook is the opposite skillset and the one the game is actually about. For how the rest of the desk works, How to Play is enough. For whether the minigame tanks the review, the Review is honest: it is a bump, not the product.

If Master will not pop, you are not missing a search term. You are missing a clean 2,000. That is the whole page.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for investigators who just hit a dead search.

Do I need DODGE to see an ending?

No. Accuse and Connive are report filings. DODGE is a separate high-score chase.

What scores do the achievements want?

Maniac is over 1,000 points. Master is over 2,000. Master is one of the rarest unlocks.

Is DODGE a hidden story?

It is a desk program with two score badges. It does not add a third finale in the achievement list.
